Our Dogs, Our Family 🤍
If you follow me on social media, you already know that our home has been shaped by three very special bully breeds—each with unique medical needs and enormous souls. The past several years have been especially challenging, emotionally and financially. What we never expected was the outpouring of love that followed.
Hundreds of followers and clients chose—on their own—to donate toward hospital bills and care for our boys. That generosity changed everything for us, and we will never forget it.
In Loving Memory of Spike
February 14, 2013 – October 2, 2023
Spike, our brave Pit Bull/German Shepherd mix, was with us for ten unforgettable years. Rescued from the streets of Brooklyn at just three months old, he came to us frightened, guarded, and carrying more pain than a puppy ever should. Over time, he became the heart of our home—our protector, our anchor, and even now, our guardian in Spirit.
Spike was blind by the age of two and a half due to degenerating retinas. He lived with severe skin and food allergies, battled depression in his later years, and was diagnosed with pancreatitis and liver issues. For years, his life included physical therapy, surgeries, prescription food, allergy medications, and daily care—but never once did he lose his will or his presence.
In late September 2023, Spike’s health declined rapidly. He stopped eating, even refusing his favorite treats, and his throat became swollen with hardened lymph nodes. With heavy hearts, we chose peace over suffering and surrounded him with love as he transitioned on October 2, 2023.
Our family is still grieving. Our children lost their brother. Oreo lost his protector. Spike will always be part of our home—watching, guiding, and loving us the way he always did.
To everyone who donated, prayed, and held us through those years: your support gave Spike the best life possible. We are forever grateful.
If you choose to honor Spike’s memory, donations now go toward helping other animals like him—those who need extra care, patience, and love to survive.
Oreo 🐾
Oreo is our 9-year-old American Bully and one of the strongest souls we know.
Born with a hole in his heart and a heart murmur, Oreo is allergic to nearly everything—meat, seafood, grass, trees, pollen, flowers, and weeds. During the pandemic, he endured two ACL surgeries within one year, followed by a third surgery in 2023 that included neutering and a sacral ablation due to prostate issues.
He lives with hip dysplasia, arthritis, balance issues, and remains on multiple medications along with prescription food. And yet—Oreo still believes he’s a puppy. He’s sweet, affectionate, and endlessly loving.
Spike and Oreo shared an unbreakable bond. Spike groomed him with kisses, even the night we rushed him to the ER. It feels as though Spike left Oreo with a message before crossing: “I’m tired now. Hold them down for me. I taught you well, lil man.”
After Spike’s passing, Oreo fell into a deep depression—so we knew our family wasn’t complete yet.
Loki 🐶
Enter Loki.
Loki is our 2½-year-old French Bulldog, and his name fits him perfectly. He is mischief, attitude, and personality wrapped into a compact little body. We chose a smaller breed to support Oreo’s orthopedic needs… and, well—that plan backfired.
Loki runs the house. He knows it. We know it.
Now considered special-needs himself, Loki suffers from advanced dental disease. He has extra molars, impacted premolars that never erupted, and misaligned teeth growing in opposing directions. Dogs typically have 42 teeth—Loki has more, and many of them are causing serious issues.
On January 20, 2026, Loki will undergo major dental surgery with an estimated 6–8 extractions (possibly more). We’ve been told that by age six, he may lose most of his teeth. His stubborn, defiant spirit reminds us so much of Spike that we often joke Spike came back through him.
