PSA: FYI: We receive all smudging wands and herbs by Indigenous tribes in California and the West Coast. The Almighty Pineapple LLC does pay the Indigenous tribes directly and understands the issues at hand in regards to Cultural Appropriation. Since this is a huge issue this is why we deal with the tribe directly, no third party wholesalers or retailers. The tribe harvests these herbs with ceremony, they don’t just pluck the plant, and in order to receive the blessings of these herbs you must sacrifice and give in return. As an Ancestral and Ritual Practitioner, Vida considers this sacred medicine and not to be taken lightly. Due to her beliefs and indigenous (Taino) lineage through her bloodline in Cuba, Vida was blessed and honored to find out that Grandmother of the tribe does bless the herbs for The Almighty Pineapple LLC and sends them directly to Vida. This is not the common transaction and when it is received at The Almighty Pineapple LLC headquarters, Vida also provides ceremony to these herbs as a thank you to Gaia (Mother Earth) and in reverence to the Indigenous Tribes. If you know Vida, she honors the indigenous ways and respects them of the United States of America and stands with the first people. If any way this offends the first people, Vida would and will remove all wands/herbs without hesitation.

When you receive your wand. please pray over your wand, give an offering to Gaia (Mother Earth) and in reverence to the Native Americans who harvested through tradition and ceremony. This is suggested at this time it is a REQUIREMENT. The medicine of this herb will not work for you if you choose to not follow these instructions.

Thank you.

Sweetgrass, also called northern sweetgrass, vanilla grass, holy grass, Seneca grass, and alpine sweetgrass, is burnt after smudging with sage to welcome the good spirits of peace and love after the bad spirits have been driven out. It is one of the “four sacred medicines”, for the north American indigenous people, the other three being cedar, sage, and tobacco. Sweetgrass is considered by the Natives as the sacred hair of Mother Earth and its pleasant fragrance serves as a reminder of the gentleness, love and kindness she has for us. This is also why the Natives braid it in three strands representing love, kindness and gentleness. It is burned as a special offering during sacred prayers, used for many healing rituals including sweat lodge ceremonies, for protection of spirits, and keeping out evil and harm.
